Hello and welcome!
I'm Laura, a Chartered Psychologist and Integrative Counsellor committed to creating a safe, supportive space where you can explore and address your challenges. My practice combines psychotherapy and holistic behaviour change strategies to support your journey toward positive well-being.
With a Doctorate in Psychology and a MSc in Health Psychology, I specialise in helping individuals manage long-term health conditions, including neurological autoimmune disorders. My research has been published in respected academic journals, and you can explore it further on the research page.
Over the past 12 years, I have had the privilege of working in diverse settings, including university mental health services, MIND (a mental health charity), schools across the Midlands, YMCA, NHS, and mental health start-ups. I have also shared my expertise as a guest lecturer at various universities, focusing on the impacts of stress on neurological and physiological health.
As a pluralistic practitioner, I tailor therapy to suit your unique needs, drawing from approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and more.
In addition, I trained as a Chartered Coaching Psychologist. Coaching Psychology emphasises goal-setting, motivation, and behaviour change to enhance personal and professional performance. Focusing on strengths-based approaches, helping individuals build resilience, self-efficacy, and adaptive coping mechanisms.
Coaching Psychology also utilises tools like cognitive-behavioural techniques, solution-focused coaching, and positive psychology to support individuals in achieving their potential.
I am dedicated to continuous professional development through regular training and supervision. My approach is interactive, proactive, and solution-focused, offering a confidential, non-judgmental space to work through emotional challenges, distressing thoughts, and relationship concerns.
Working in a relational way, we will work together to deepen your self-awareness and develop practical tools to cultivate healthier thought patterns and behaviours. This approach focuses on creating a strong, collaborative, and genuine connection between the practitioner and client.
The relationship itself becomes a vehicle for change, offering a safe space where trust, understanding, and mutual respect foster meaningful exploration and development.
